Reminder of why we’re doing this!
If ever I needed a reminder of why Cath and I want to raise money for the BHF and The Stroke Association then it’s happened recently. A lovely teenager I know, Sarah, living with CHD, had to have an unexpected valve replacement on the morning of the Royal Wedding. It was the same valve that Robyn will need replaced. The surgery went well and the last report was that her heart is slowly getting there. However since the surgery her vision’s been poor and her bottom lip and left hand have been numb. She’s had a CT scan which has shown up abnormalities which they think may have been caused by a stroke.
It’s a harsh reminder of the risks that Robyn faces, and any other CHD sufferer! Every surgery / procedure means she risks the chance of a stroke.
Thinking of you Sarah and hoping you’re back home and well again soon.
Bring on the wall!!!!

Thinking of your friend and hope she recovers well x
